万文国：要求政府官员申报财产

这几年来，中国政府官员贪污腐化越来越严重。在10多年前，如果一个省部级干部贪污1百万元，就是非常大的贪官了，而现在，随便一个县级干部都可以贪污几千万以上，甚至上亿的金钱。中国政府，共产党每天都在喊反腐败，可是就是不敢让政府官员公布财产，因为如果每个政府官员把他们贪污的金钱数目都公布出来的话，政府马上就要倒台，因为在当今的中国，大官大贪，小官小贪，无官不贪，贪污的数额只是多少而已，不是有无的问题。除此之外，中国的政府官员也不敢公开他们的家属是不是已经移民国外，他们有多少房产，银行里有多少存款。

作为一个中国人，我在美国 生活已经有一段时间,亲眼目睹美国社会和人民如何监督政府官员的行为，即使是美国总统奥巴马，也要每年向社会公众公布他一年的收入是多少，交了多少的税，他的收入来源等，正是因为他和所有其他政府官员都要向社会公布财产，才从根源上杜绝了政府官员的贪污腐败行为。从人性的本质上来说，美国政府的官员并不比中国的好多少，但是，官员申报财产的法律使得那些有心想贪污的官员都没有可能，或者是没有胆量去贪污受贿。

我呼吁中国政府，立即通过官员财产申报的法律，让他们的收入置于人民的监督之下，使得他们再也不能，不敢贪污，这样才能建立起一个廉洁高效的政府，一个真正为人民服务的政府。

Remember 25th Anniversary of Tiananmen Massacre

On April 29, 2014, "Chinese Coalition for Citizens Rights", a human rights organization, held a rally across from the Chinese Consulate in New York to remember the 25th anniversary of Tiananmen Massacre.

25 years ago, students in Beijing protested on the streets demanding an end to rampant corruption, and for freedom and democracy. The protests were violent crushed by the Chinese army on the early morning of June 4, 1989. Hundreds of students died from machine gun fire and marching tanks.

Since then, people around the world gather on this day every year to pay respect to the students killed in Tiananmen Square, Beijing, and ask the Chinese government to redress the Tiananmen issue, and provide state compensation to the families of killed students. However, their calls for justice have received no response from the Chinese government.

In New York, it has become a tradition that democracy and human rights activists gather in front of the Chinese Consulate in Manhattan to pay respect to the students killed in Tiananmen Square, and demand justice for the massacre.

"Chinese Coalition for Citizens Rights" calls on the Chinese government to redress the Tiananmen issue, provide state compensation to victims' families, and restore honor to the students.

李长洙：我参加中国公民自由联盟的原因

来到美国好多年了，在美国生活的时间越长，越是热爱这里的生活，因为在这里我有自由，没有人对我说我应当做这个做那个，在这里，没有强迫拆迁，没有强迫流产，也不会有人因为公开批评政府就被抓起来坐牢。我可以按照自己的想法，用自己的勤劳的双手实现自己的梦想。

我在工作场合遇到很多中国人，他们和我一样，为了自由来到美国，虽然工作很辛苦，但是他们没有抱怨，因为在这里他们才能真正过上自由的生活。我经常和这些人交谈，问他们为什么来到美国，他们和我说，在中国没有机会挣钱，只能去打苦工，可是，每个月的收入也只能吃饱肚子，根本不能养家糊口，买不起房子，看不起病，小孩没钱上好学校。而哪些贪官污吏则将人民的血汗钱放进自己的口袋，包二奶，开豪车，吃山珍海味，还用贪污得来的钱将自己的老婆孩子送到国外过逍遥的生活。而在美国，人人都是平等的，只要不偷懒，每个人都有机会为自己创造美好的生活。

我经常想，我们中国人什么时候不用再偷渡美国，在自己的国家就能够过上自由幸福的生活呢？谁没有妻儿老小，谁没有亲戚朋友，有谁愿意离开家人，离开自己的故乡，冒着生命危险去一个陌生的国家去生活呢？我想，这需要靠我们自己，靠我们每一个人共同努力，让中国真正变成一个自由民主的国家，这个目标才能实现。

"Cut Hair in Support of Liu Xia" Rally at Chinese Embassy in Washington DC

On March 6, 2014, "Chinese Coalition for Citizens Rights (CCCR)", a human rights organization based in America, jointly held a rally with Dr. Yang Jianli, chairman of "Initiatives for China", who is also honorary chairman of CCCR, at the Chinese Embassy on "Cut Hair in Support of Liu Xia" in Washington DC.

Liu Xia, the wife of imprisoned Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu Xiaobo, has been under house arrest in Beijing since her husband was awarded the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize. She was not allowed to communicate with her friends and supporters, and her health has been deteriorating. The Chinese government refused to let her go aboard for medical treatment. She has also been in great depression.

At the rally, Dr. Yang Jianli said that we Chinese citizens in America have to do something we can to help Liu Xia. Today, we come here to show our support by cutting off our hair, because Liu Xia is also shaved bald. We ask the Chinese government to let her receive medical treatment immediately and grant her right to work.

Before the rally, the Chinese Embassy had the US Secret Service monitor the proceedings of the rally. The police asked protestors to step away from the gate, regarded as the Chinese territory. The rally then moved to a small park directly across from the Embassy which is some steps away from the Gate.

A number of Liu Xia supporters shaved their heads bald at the rally, including some CCCR members. Numerous media, including "Voice of America", "Radio Free Asia", etc, covered the event.

“Free Nobel Laureate Liu Xiaobo" Rally

On January 14, 2014, "Chinese Coalition for Citizens Rights", a human rights organization, held a rally at the United Nations square demanding the Chinese government to release Liu Xiaobo, a Beijing writer who was sentenced to 11 years in prison in 2009 for writing an article calling for constitutional reform and freedom of speech in China.

Dr. Liu Xiaobo wrote "Charter 08", a manifesto calling for rule of law, constituional reform, democracy and freedom of speech in China. He was detained in December 2008 for this article on charges of "inciting to subvert state power". He was sentenced on December 25, 2009, the Christmas Day, (Liu Xiaobo is a Christian), to 11 years in prison for this article he wrote.

In 2010, Dr. Liu Xiaobo was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for the outstanding contribution to China's peaceful transition to democracy. However, he was not able to present himself at the awarding ceremony in Oslo, Norway on December 10, 2010 to receive the award because he was still serving his prison terms. Right now he is still in prison despite repeated calls and appeals all over the world.

"Free Nobel Laureate Liu Xiaobo" Seminar

On Dec 17, 2013, "Chinese Coalition for Citizens Rights", a human rights organization, held a seminar in Flushing, New York on "Free Nobel Laureate Liu Xiaobo".

Four years ago, Liu Xiaobo was sentenced to 11 years in prison in China on charges of "inciting to subvert state power" for an article he wrote calling for freedom of speech and constitutional reform. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2010 for his outstanding contribution to China's peaceful transition to a democratic country.

Members of "Chinese Coalition for Citizens Rights" spoke out at the meeting in commemoration of the 4th anniversary of Liu Xiaobo's imprisonment, and called on the Chinese government to have him released immediately, and return freedom of speech to all Chinese citizens.

Remember 65th Anniversary of "Universal Declaration of Human Rights"

On Dec 3, 2013, "Chinese Coalition for Citizens Rights", a Chinese human rights organization, held a rally at the Chinese Consulate in New York to remember the 65th anniversary of "Universal Declaration of Human Rights".

Although China is a signatory to the "International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights", the government has failed to protect the freedom of speech and other rights of its citizens, most notably by jailing the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Liu Xiaobo, who was sentenced to 11 years in prison for an article he wrote, calling for freedom of speech and constitutional reform. Mr. Liu Xiaobo is still serving his prison terms in China.

"Chinese Coalition for Citizens Rights" calls on the Chinese government to release all political prisoenrs, remove the blocade of the internet, so that people in China can enjoy freedom of speech.
