“释放刘晓波和高智晟”研讨会

On July 12, 2011, "Coalition for Citizens Rights" held a forum in Flushing, New York calling for the release of Liu Xiaobo and Gao Zhisheng, two world-known human rights activists in China.
Liu Xiaobo was sentenced to 11 years in prison for writing "Chart...er 08", a manifesto calling for rule of law, human rights, democracy and freedom in China. He won the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize for his 20 plus years of fighting for human rights in China through non-violent means. Gao Zhisheng is a human rights lawyer who was sentenced to 4 and half years for providing legal assistence to persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. He was tortured before and after his prison sentence in 2007.
Those speaking at the forum include: Cui Chunhua, Piao Shanzi, Feng Yanyun, Cui Shenghu, Ren Chengguang, Zhu Yongming, Lin Zhifeng and Piao Ri. They all condemn the government persecution of Liu Xiaobo and Gao Zhisheng and called on the Chinese government to release them immediately. At the end of the forum, members of "Coalition for Citizens Rights" distributed flyers in Flushing calling for attention to Liu Xiaobo and Gao Zhisheng and calling on all people to work together for their release from prison.

“公民自由联盟”举办“释放刘晓波和高智晟”研讨会

2011年7月12日， “公民自由联盟”在纽约法拉盛举办了“释放刘晓波和高智晟”的研讨会。
刘晓波因为撰写“零八宪章”，于2009年12月25日被判处11年有期徒刑。2010年10月8日，他获得了当年的诺贝尔和平奖。
高智晟是著名的人权律师，他因为为法轮功学员辩护，在2007年被判处4年半徒刑。
“公民自由联盟”成员在研讨会上发言的有：崔春花，朴善子，崔升虎，朴日，朱永明，林芝风，任成光，江新康，冯燕云，他们要求中国政府尊重公民的言论自由权利，立即释放刘晓波和高智晟。
会后，公民自由联盟成员们还上街发放传单，呼吁人们关注刘晓波和高智晟，为他们的早日获释而努力。
