"Free Nobel Laureate Liu Xiaobo" Rally 要求释放刘晓波集会

On July 31, 2012, "Coalition for Citizens Rights" held a rally at the United Nations Square calling for the release of Liu Xiaobo, the 2010 Nobel laureate for peace prize.
2012年7月31日，公民自由联盟在联合国广场集会，要求释放2010年诺贝尔和平奖获得者刘晓波。

Dr. Liu Xiaobo was detained by the Chinese government on Dec 9, 2008 for writing an article named "Charter 08", calling for rule of law, constitutional reform, freedom of speech and government be elected by the people. On December 25, 2009, on the Christmas Day, Dr. Liu Xiaobo, a Christian, was sentenced by the Chinese government to 11 years in prison for the article he wrote.

刘晓波博士在2008年12月9日，因为撰写《零八宪章》被中国政府拘捕，他在《零八宪章》中，倡导法治、宪法改革、言论自由、政府民选。2009年12月25日圣诞节，基督教徒刘晓波博士因其文章被中国政府判处11年有期徒刑。

On December 10, 2010, Dr. Liu Xiaobo was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize of the year for his outstanding contribution over the past 20 years to China's peaceful transition to a democracy. However, he was not able to attend the awarding ceremony in Oslo, Norway on that day because he was still serving his prison terms in China.
2010年12月10日，刘晓波博士被授予诺贝尔和平奖，以表彰其在过去20年里为中国和平民主转型所作出的杰出贡献。然后，由于他仍在中国狱中服刑而无法参加当天在挪威奥斯陆举行的颁奖礼。

Right now Dr. Liu Xiaobo is still in Chinese prison.
目前，刘晓波博士仍在中国狱中服役。

"Coalition for Citizens Rights" calls on the Chinese government to respect freedom of speech and release Liu Xiaobo from prison immediately.
公民自由联盟要求中国政府尊重言论自由，立即释放刘晓波。

Zhang Jialin, a petitioner from Jiangsu, China, also a member of Coalition for Citizens Rights, spoke at the rally about the horrible perseuction he suffered in China after he became a victim of labor fraud. Zhang was beaten repeatedly by security guards and thugs hired by the government and was detained because he kept petitioning to the government asking for his money back. He said that there was no place in China where he could seek justice, and that is the reason he joined "Coalition for Citizens Rights" to fight for his rights.
曾是中国江苏上访者的张加林作为公民自由联盟的成员，在集会中讲述了他在中国遭受的残酷迫害，作为用工欺诈的受害者，他被保安及政府雇佣的地痞多次殴打，还因为他拒绝停止上访，坚持讨要自己的财产而被政府拘留。他说，在中国他找不到一个寻求正义的地方，这也是他加入公民自由联盟，争取自身权利的原因。
Yin Hushan, a member of "Coalition for Citizens Rights", also spoke at the rally praising Dr. Liu Xiaobo's contribution to China's democracy during the 1989 student movement, and his role in the "Charter 08" movement. He urges Chinese government to free Dr. Liu Xiaobo immediately and unconditionally.
 公民自由联盟成员尹虎山，也在集会上赞扬了刘晓波博士自1989年后为中国民主所做出的贡献，以及他在《零八宪章》运动中所扮演的重要角色。他同样要求中国政府无条件立即释放刘晓波。

Some 30 members of "Coalition for Citizens Rights" attended today's rally. They include: Yin Hushan, Jiang Kaixiong, Quan Ningling, Jin Yuzi, Piao Huazi, Jin Yujie, Ming Jian, Jin Yingyu, Jiang Jiantian, Jin Yinshun, An Chunyue, Yan Shannu, Jin Lianhua, Piao Meihua, Zhang Jialin, Liu Zhizhong, Zhu Benjian, Shen Xianglan, Lin Feng, Zheng Shaoqin, Li Jinghong, Lin Rong, Lin Guoliang, Xu Zhenghao, Li Renjiu, Xuan Hua, Liu Ailing, Zheng Jinghua, Shen Zhenan, Chen Jinde, Xuan Longyan.

参加公民自由联盟今日集会的成员共30多位，包括：尹虎山、蒋开雄， 权宁玲、金玉子、朴花子、金玉洁、明键、金英玉、江鉴天、金银顺、安春月、严善女、金莲花、朴美花、张加林、刘志忠、朱本俭、沈香兰、林峰、郑少琴、李京鸿、林榕、林国良、许正浩、李仁玖、玄花、刘爱玲、郑京华、沈哲男、陈晋德、玄龙岩。
