"Remove the Great Firewall" Rally

On September 11, 2012, "Coalition for Citizens Rights" held a rally at the Chinese Consulate General in New York calling on the Chinese government to remove the Great Firewall and allow freedom of speech in China.
2012年9月11日，公民自由联盟在中国领事馆外集会，要求中国政府废除长城防火墙，在中国实现言论自由。

At the beginning of the ceremony, members of "Coalition for Citizens Rights" held a one-minute mourning silence ceremony to pay respect to the 2,600 victims of September 11, 2001 terrorist attack of the World Trade Center in New York, USA.
在集会开始前，公民自由联盟进行了一分钟默哀，悼念在2001年9月11日纽约世贸中心的恐怖袭击事件中丧生的2600名罹难者。

The Chinese government built a "Golden Shield", commonly called the "Great Firewall" (GFW), about 10 years ago to censor the internet contents, prevent the Chinese people from loggoing on overseas websites, especially pro-democracy and human rights websites. Thanks to the Great Wall, people in China are not able to log on to such popular websites as Facebook, Youtube, Flickr, Wikipedia, etc.
中国政府建造在10年前构建了“金盾”——长城防火墙（GFW），以此实现网络封锁，防止中国民众登录海外网站，尤其是那些宣扬民主人权的网站。长城防火墙的存在，使中国民众无法登陆那些在海外广受欢迎的网站，包括Facebook, Youtube, Flickr, Wikipedia 等网站。

The Chinese government monitor activities of people on the internet, and those who dare to voice their concerns and grievances and corruption of the government on the internet are detained, and imprisoned or sent to the labor camps.
中国政府监管中国民众的网络活动，那些敢于在网络上质疑、诟病政府腐败行为的民众被拘留、监禁或是下放劳改营。

"Coalition for Citizens Rights" calls on the Chinese government to immediately remove the Great Firewall and allow freedom of speech in China, so that people in China can enjoy basic human rights as the people in the civilized world.
中国公民自由联盟要求中国政府立即去除长城防火墙，还中国人民言论自由，只有这样中国人民才能享有民主国家民众享有的基本人权。

"Coalition for Citizens Rights" also calls on the Chinese government to release Dr. Liu Xiaobo, the 2010 Nobel laureate for peace prize who was sentenced to 11 years in prison in 2009 for writing an article named "Charter 08", a manisfesto calling for rule of law, freedom of speech, and government be elected by the people.
公民自由联盟还要求中国政府释放2010年诺贝尔和平奖获得者刘晓波博士。刘晓波博士因在撰写《08宪章》，呼吁法律改革，言论自由、政府民选，于2009年被判处11年有期徒刑。
