Who We Are

Coalition for Citizens Rights is an human rights organization dedicated to freedom of speech and press, and internet freedom, in China. This organization was founded in May 2008, and its former website, http://www.cfcr2008.org/, has been constantly under attack since its appearance in June 2008. Attackers have compromised this website in 2010 and placed malicious code on it. We warn that this website is not to be opened even if it is back to normal. This website, http://www.gongminziyoulianmeng.blogspot.com/, shall serve as official site of "Coalition for Citizens Rights".

Freedom for Liu Xiaobo and Chen Guangcheng

We call on the Chinese government to release Liu Xiaobo, the 2010 Nobel Laureate for peace prize who was sentenced to 11 years in prison in 2009 for writing "Charter 08", an article calling for rule of law, freedom of speech and constitutional reform; and freedom for Chen Guangcheng, a blind human rights lawyer who served 4 years and 3 months in prison for providing legal assistance to victims of forced abortion and sterilization and has been placed under house arrest since his release from prison in 2011.

"Protest Zhu Yufu's 7-Year Prison Sentence" Rally (抗议判处朱虞夫7年监禁)

On February 14, 2012, "Coalition for Citizens Rights" held a rally at the United Nations Square protesting the recent prison sentence for Zhu Yufu, a veteran democracy activist in Hangzhou, China.
2012年2月14日，公民自由联盟在联合国广场举行集会，抗议中国政府对杭州退役军人、民主活动者朱虞夫的判决。

Mr. Zhu Yufu was sentenced to 7 years in prison in early February 2012 by the court in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China for a poem he wrote. The poem goes on like this:

It’s time, people of China! It's time.
The Square belongs to everyone.
With your own two feet
It’s time to head to the Square and make your choice.
It’s time, people of China! It’s time.
A song belongs to everyone.
From your own throat
It's time to voice the song in your heart.
It's time, people of China! It’s time.
China belongs to everyone.
Of your own will
It’s time to choose what China shall be.

朱虞夫因为一首诗，于2012年2月初被中国浙江杭州法院判处7年监禁，该诗如下

《是时候了》

是时候了，中国人！是时候了
广场是大家的
脚是自己的
是时候用脚去广场作出选择

是时候了，中国人！是时候了
歌曲是大家的
喉是自己的
是时候用喉唱出心底的歌曲

是时候了，中国人！是时候了
中国是大家的
选择是自己的
是时候用自己选择未来的中国

The court convicted Mr. Zhu Yufu of "inciting to subvert state power" based on the evidence of this poem.
法庭以这首诗作为证据，判处朱虞夫阴谋颠覆国家罪。

"Coalition for Citizens Rights" protests the unjustified prison sentence for Mr. Zhu Yufu, because what he did was only writing a poem, and he was exercising his freedom of speech.
公民自由联盟抗议对朱虞夫不公正的判决，这裁决仅仅是基于一首诗，而言论自由理应是他的权利。

"Coalition for Citizens Rights" also calls on the Chinese government to release Mr. Zhu Yufu, and all political prisoners and prisoners of conscience, return freedom of speech to the people.
公民自由联盟同时要求中国政府释放朱虞夫，和所有其他政治犯、良心犯，还公民言论自由的权利。
