Celebrate Chen Guangcheng's Freedom (中领馆集会：庆祝陈光诚来美获得自由）

On May 22, 2012, "Coalition for Citizens Rights" held a rally across from the Chinese Consulate General in New York in celebration of Chen Guangcheng's freedom.
2012年5月22日，公民自由联盟在中国驻纽约总领馆旁集会，庆祝陈光诚重获自由。

This rally was hosted by Gu Xinsheng, rotating chairman of "Coalition for Citizens Rights" for May 2012.
Gu Xinsheng said in his speech at the rally that we welcome Chen Guangcheng to America from the bottom of our hearts; we also thank the US government for rescuing Chen Guangcheng and his family out of China, so that they can live a free life in the United States and never be persecuted again.
这次集会由2012年5月公民自由联盟轮值主席——顾新生主持，顾新生在集会上发表了演讲，他表示我们从心底里欢迎陈光诚先生来到美国，同时，我们也感谢美国政府帮助陈光诚及其家人逃离中国，从此后他们将不再遭受迫害，在美国过上自由的生活。

Gu Xinsheng said that we also have to remember there are still hundreds of prisoners of conscience just like Chen Guangcheng in China, people who are in prison for seeking justice for other people. Gu said that we have to continue working toward their release from prison.

顾新生还谈到：我们必须记住，在中国仍有成百上千的像陈光诚那样的良心犯，他们为国人寻求正义而入狱，我们必须继续努力，让他们最终得到释放。

  Chen Guangcheng is a blind human rights lawyer in Linyi, Shandong Province, China. He was sentenced to 4 years and 3 months in prison in 2006 for providing legal assistance to victims of forced abortion and sterilization. In 2010, Chen Guangcheng was placed under house arrest after being released from prison. He and his wife were beaten by thugs hired by the local government in 2011 after he released a video on the internet revealing the horrible experience under his house arrest. In April 2012, Mr. Chen Guangcheng escaped from house arrest and took refuge in the US Embassy in Beijing, China. On May 19, 2012, Mr. Chen Guangcheng, together with his wife and two children, arrived in the United States as a visiting scholar of New York University.

陈光诚是中国山东省临沂的一个人权盲人律师，他因为那些被强迫流产和结扎的受害者们提供法律援助，于2006年被判处4年3个月有期徒刑。2010年出狱后，他被软禁在家，2011年，他在网上发布了一个视频，揭露被软禁的可怕经历，因此他及其妻子袁伟静受到了政府雇佣的流氓们的毒打。2012年4月，陈光诚先生从被软禁的家中逃出，进入美国驻中国北京大使馆寻求庇护。2012年5月19日陈光诚先生以纽约大学访问学者的身份，携妻子及两个孩子到达美国。
