US Government: Give Asylum to Chen Guangcheng 美国政府：请给予陈光诚政治庇护

On May 8, 2012, "Coalition for Citizens Rights" held a rally at the United Nations calling on the US government to give asylum to Chen Guangcheng, a blind human rights lawyer who escaped from house arrest in his home in Linyi, Shandong Province and took refuge in the US Embassy in Beijing, China.
2012年5月8日，公民自由联盟在联合国广场举行集会，号召美国政府给予陈光诚政治庇护，陈光诚是一个盲人律师，他从山东临沂被软禁的家中逃出，进入美国驻中国北京大使馆寻求政治庇护。

Mr. Chen Guangcheng was sentenced to 4 years and 3 months in prison in 2006 for providing legal support to victims of forced abortion and sterilization in his hometown of Linyi, Shandong Province. He was beaten and tortured before and after his imprisonment. In 2010, he was released from prison after serving a full prison sentence. However, he was placed under house arrest in his home. He was not allowed to use cell phone, the internet, and his 7-year-old daughter was not allowed to go to school. Last year, Mr. Chen Guangcheng and his wife Yuan Weijing were severely beaten by thugs hired by the local government after Chen released a video on the internet revealing his horrible experience under house arrest. The local government hired hundreds of local gangsters and thugs to chase, beat people from all over the country who tried to visit Chen Guangcheng in his home in Taishigu Village, Linyi, Shandong Province.

陈光诚先生因为在他家乡山东临沂为那些被强制流产和结扎的受害者提供法律援助，于2006年被判处4年3个月有期徒刑。在入狱前后他都受到了暴力对待。2010年，在服完刑后他被释放。但是，却在家中被软禁起来。他被禁止使用手机，上网。他7岁的女儿被拒绝入学。去年，陈光诚和他的妻子袁伟静被当地政府雇佣的流氓打手殴打。陈光诚在网上发了一段视频，揭露他自己被软禁的悲惨遭遇。同时，地方政府雇佣上百名当地的地皮流氓，寻找殴打那些全国各地来山东临沂东师古村探望陈光诚的人。

On April 27, 2012, Mr. Chen Guangcheng escaped from his house arrest with the help of a number of brave people who sympathized with Mr. Chen Guangcheng. Mr. Chen was then able to travel to Beijing and was admitted to the US Embassy, where he was greeted by the US Ambassdor Gary Locke.

2012年4月27日，陈光诚先生在一批同情他遭遇的正义之士的帮助下逃出了被软禁的家，并辗转进入美国驻北京大使馆，在那里受到了美国大使Gary Locke接待。

Right now Mr. Chen Guangcheng is in the hospital in Beijing healing his wounds that he suffered during his escape. The New York University has already sent an invitation letter to Mr. Chen Guangcheng admitting him to the school as a visiting scholar.

现在，陈光诚现在正在北京一家医院治疗他在逃跑中所受的伤，纽约大学已经给陈光诚先生发函邀请他以访问学者身份来美。

"Coalition for Citizens Rights" demands the US government to grant asylum to Chen Guangcheng and his family so that they can come to the United States and live a free life. "Coalition for Citizens Rights" also demands the Chinese government to stop its persecution of other human rights activists in China.
公民自由联盟要求美国政府给予陈光诚及其家人政治庇护，这样他们就能来到美国过自由的生活。公民自由联盟还要求中国政府停止迫害中国其他的人权活动人士。
