"Free Liu Xiaobo, Allow Freedom of Speech" Rally (释放刘晓波，归还公民言论自由）

On March 26, 2013, "Chinese Coalition for Citizens Rights", a human rights organization in America, held a rally at the Chinese Consulate in New York demanding the release of Liu Xiaobo, the 2010 Nobel laureate, and for freedom of speech.
2013年3月26日，中国公民自由联盟在纽约的中国领事馆前举行集会，要求释放2010年诺贝尔和平奖获得者刘晓波，归还公民的言论自由。

Liu Xiaobo is a writer in Beijing. In 2008, he wrote an article, "Charter 08", calling for freedom of speech, rule of law, and for government be elected by the people. He was then arrested and sentenced to 11 years in prison on the Christmas Day of 2009 for this article.
刘晓波是北京的一个作家。2008年，他写了一篇文章“零八宪章“， 号召在中国实现言论自由，依法治国，政府由人民选举。结果，在2009年的圣诞节，他被判处11年有期徒刑。

In 2010, the Nobel Committee awarded Liu Xiaobo the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize for his outstanding contribution over the past 20 years to China's peaceful transition to a democracy.

However, Mr. Liu Xiaobo was not able to attend the awarding ceremony in Oslo, Norway on December 10, 2010, the World Human Rights Day, because he was then still serving his prison terms in China. In his place was an empty chair.

Since his imprisonment, people all over the world have been calling to the Chinese government for his release, because nobody should be incriminated for an article he wrote.

Liu Xia, Mr. Liu Xiaobo's wife, has been under house arrest since Mr. Liu Xiaobo's imprisonment, and she has not been able to communicate with friends and supporters for more than two years. She is not experiencing a mental breakdown.
刘晓波的妻子刘霞在他判刑后，一直处于被软禁状态，在过去的两年多时间里，她无法和朋友以及支持者们取得联系。现在，她的精神状态面临崩溃。

"Chinese Coalition for Citizens Rights" insists that the imprisonment of Mr. Liu Xiaobo is a violation of his rights to his freedom of speech, a right that the Chinese Constitution has clearly stated that every Chinese citizen is entitled to.
中国公民自由联盟认为，刘晓波的判刑入狱是对他言论自由的严重侵犯，而言论自由的权利是中国的宪法明文规定，每个公民都应当享有的权利。

At the rally, members of "Chinese Coalition for Citizens Rights" calls on the Chinese government release Liu Xiaobo immediately, and allow freedom of speech.
在集会上，中国公民自由联盟的成员们要求中国政府立即释放刘晓波，归还公民的言论自由。

This rally was organized by Cui Yonglu, the rotating chairman of "Chinese Coalition for Citizens Rights" for March 2013.
这次集会由中国公民自由联盟2013年3月轮值主席崔永禄主持。
