"Investigate Officials' Overseas Assets" Rally (要求调查官员藏匿海外资产）

On April 24, 2012, "Coalition for Citizens Rights" held a rally at the Chinese Consulate General New York demanding the Chinese government to investigate government officials' overseas assets. This rally was hosted by Lin Feng, the rotating chairman of "Colition for Citizens Rights" for April 2012.
2012年4月24日，公民自由联盟在中国驻纽约领事馆举行集会，要求中国政府调查官员的海外资产。此次集会由2012年4月公民自由联盟轮值主席林峰主持。

It has been reported by the British and Japanese media that Bo Xilai, the Communist Party chief of Chongqing City, who was also a member of the Chinese Communist Party's Politburo, together with his wife Gu Kailai, transferred overseas more than 6 billion US dollars in assets, most of which ill-gotten money like receving bribes, kickbacks from construction projects, etc. "Coalition for Citizens Rights" demands a full investigation into why he was able to amass such a tremendous amount of money and launder the money out of China.
据英国和日本媒体报道，前中共重庆市委书记，中共政治局委员薄熙来伙同其妻谷开来，转移到海外的资产总额超过60亿美元，其中大多数财产来自于收受贿赂和工程回扣等。“公民自由联盟”要求对薄熙来集聚巨额财富的来源，和跨国洗钱的途径等进行全面调查。

Lin Feng said in his speech at the rally that during Bo Xilai's years in Chongqing, he received massive bribes from his subordinates, amounting a total of 1 billion RMB (16 million U.S. dollars). Officials sent him huge amounts of money for a higher position either in the government or at the Chinese Communist Party. A chief of Nan-an District, Chongqing, gave Gu Kailai 30 million RMB in bribes for a position as vice mayor of the city.
 林峰在讲话中指出在薄熙来掌管重庆的的几年中，他收受手下官员巨额贿赂，总值达到一亿人民币（约合1600万美元）。官员为谋求在政府或党派中的提拔送给其巨额财产。重庆南岸区区长为了副市长一职行贿谷开来3000万人民币。

Lin Feng said that this shows how corrupt government officials in China have become. What they do as government officials are only for their personal gains.
林峰指出薄熙来事件透露出中国官员的腐败，他们的所作所为都只为寻求一己私利。

Lin Feng also said at the rally that only freedom of speech and press can curb the rampant corruption of the Chinese government officials, and the pass into law of the "Sunshine Act", which requires that every government official report their assets.
在集会中林峰还指出只有言论自由、媒体自由才能抑制中国官员的腐败行为，并且政府需要通过《阳光法案》，要求每一位官员都上报个人财产。

A number of members of "Coalition for Citizens Rights" spoke at the rally in condemnation of the corruption of government officials in China, calling for freedom of speech and the press, and internet freedom.
公民自由联盟的成员们在集会上纷纷谴责中国政府官员的腐败行为，要求言论自由、媒体自由和网络自由。
