On May 21, 2013, "Chinese Coalition for Citizens Rights" (CCCR), a Chinese human rights organization, held a rally across from the Chinese Consulate in New York in celebration of the first anniversary of Chen Guangcheng's freedom in the United States.
2013年5月21日，人权组织“中国公民自由联盟”在纽约曼哈顿的中领馆前举行集会，庆祝陈光诚来到美国获得自由一周年。

Chen is a blind human rights lawyer in China. He was sentenced to 4 years and 3 months in prison in 2006 because he provided legal assistance to victims of forced abortion and sterilization in Shandong Province. 

陈光诚是中国的一名盲人维权律师。他因为帮助山东的计划生育受害者打官司，在2006年被当地法院判处4年3个月的徒刑。

After he was released from prison in 2010, Chen had been under house arrest. In April 2012, with the help of his friends and supporters, Chen escaped from house arrest and took refuge at the US Embassy in Beijing. In May 2012, the US government helped him getting out of China and he came to the United States, and he was able to start living a free life.
2010年陈光诚出狱后，一直被软禁在家。2012年4月，在朋友的帮助下， 他逃到美国驻北京大使馆，在2012年5月，在美国政府帮助下，来到美国，过上了自由的生活。

"Chinese Coalition for Citizens Rights" calls on the Chinese government to release all political prisoners and prisoners of conscience, allow freedom of speech, so that all the people in China can live free lives.
中国公民自由联盟号召中国政府释放所有政治犯以及良心犯，开放言论自由，让所有的中国人都能够过上自由的生活。
